clematis ville de lyon

This Clematis was created at the end of the 19th Century, in France. Clematis 'Ville de Lyon' is a tall growing climbing plant that can completely cover a high wall or fence. It has deep purple-red flowers that are more bold around the edges of the sepals and lighter in the middle, with contrasting yellow anthers in the centre of the blooms. It will flower throughout July, August and September. It thrives in a full sun or partial sun position in the garden. Height: 5m (16'). Spread 1m (3').

Clematis 'Ville de Lyon' is a climber worth having in your garden. It is one of the late, large-flowering varieties. You can grow them at the back or in a flower border to add height to your displays. The deep purple-red flowers appear in mid-summer and last into autumn. This provides a long-lasting display of colour in a patio pot or against a wall or fence. Height: 5m (16'). Spread 1m (3'). Pruning group: 3
