It's easy to see why Clematis 'Rouge Cardinal' is one of the favourite varieties of red-flowered climbers. It bears single, large, velvety red flowers which have contrasting brown anthers and they gradually fade to a purple-rose tone. The blooms appear from July to September , making a great late summer show. This Clematis is relatively vigorous and it will do well in a sunny spot. This climber looks good on a wall, a trellis or growing against an obelisk. Height: 3m (10'). Spread: 1m (3').
